Latest and Greatest (Info that is)

It seems like I need to get some info on here for you all, but I am sad to say that there really isn't much going on. I will try though. Be warned that there are not many new pictures, just different ones that were taken throughout the summer, OK? Don't worry though, there will be a new update worth reading in just a couple weeks as we have some big plans. That is all I am saying about that.

As for a quick little update from us anyway: we are doing swell. As always, and to repeat the cliche that everyone says, Summer flew by. I always wonder about such a comment. We all know that by the time September is over that looking back will make it seem like Summer flew by. Why do we even bother to comment? If anyone reading thinks that summer just creeped past and took too long, please comment immediately, I would love to hear about it. I really doubt I get any takers because as I said, Summer flew by. Well, so did 2005, but that's another story. Anyway, from youngest to oldest, here it goes:
Unnamed third child: If pregnancies were sporting events, I guess it would be halftime right now. Growing child seems to be doing well. We will have the ultrasound in late October, but Rebecca has conceded my position to respect the kids privacy and we will not find out whether it is to be male or female.
Eli: Becoming a little smart alleck. I know, it runs in the family. Eli loves the movie Aristocats. To the point where he sings the soundtrack regularly. He cracks me up. He has such a high voice and has a hard time with several consonants (he pronounces them as "H's".) His speaking needs a translator. We are going to look into surgery for him. He is what they call "tongue tied," which may be why he has such a hard time with consonants and why bread gets stuck on the roof of his mouth. He has a girl in the ward he calls his girlfriend. She's 16. He goes back and forth between her and Snow White. He can't pick a favorite yet. He also has a radio/CD player in his room now and he spends considerable amounts of time listening to the Primary songs on CD. He loves to sing, but it is pretty entertaining with his above mentioned speech issues.
Tierra: Has severe reactions to mosquito bites. The poor thing. She swells up huge with each bite. I feel so bad for her. The flying leaches have a radar for her too. The other night I didn't even notice any outside, but the next day Tierra had 3 huge bites, one on her lip. She looked like she had gone a few rounds with Ivan Drago (see Rocky 4 or Dolph Lundgren). Tierra has a new found love for one of my favorite older cartoons: Fraggle Rock. We have been getting the DVD's for her to watch. She also turned 5 mid September. She missed the school cutoff and is doing another year of preschool, which she absolutely loves. She is so excited each of the days she gets to go. She draws pictures like crazy. I bring home the papers I would typically throw away from work and she uses the backs of them as her easel and draws everything you could imagine. She is a very good artist. She is also taking an interest in how to spell words and asks all the time how to write them down.
Rebecca: Doing pretty good with the pregnancy stuff. The second trimester is typically the best time for her as far as being sick goes. She has been feeling pretty good. She has her down days, but they are less than usual. She still gets pretty tired. She participates in the ward dinner group. A group of women from the ward get together and pre-make a few weeks worth of dinners. Rebecca loves this, because all she has to do for dinner is turn on the oven. I will refrain from any comments but if anyone cares to know my opinion, email me. Primary stuff still takes up a lot of her time. She loves her calling. She went with me to the University of Utah game the other night and had a good time. We both also went to Cyprus' Homecoming game. She enjoys going to sporting events, so that works good for me! Her garden project turned out pretty successful. It has provided tons of tomatoes, a few cucumbers, some green peppers, some hot peppers, some beans, and some small corn, very small corn. The tomatillos still have not yielded anything!
Me: I took a quick trip with my Brother Danny and my friend Jason last week to Los Angeles. I flew down for the day to see the LA Dodgers play. My baseball fever is still spiking and demands attention. We flew in Tuesday morning, hung out at Huntington Beach all day and then went to the game. It was a blast. We flew home early the next morning and I was back at work that morning. I want to see a baseball game at every major league stadium. I am still Scoutmaster. Not much to say about that. Work has been very busy lately, so any quick vacation is well worth it. Rebecca is great to let me go so much!

I did get the list from my Brother of the 5 worst things that cost him 10 dollars in New York, since so many have asked: These are not in any order, and may need some explaining, so if it doesn't make sense or you want more info, email me.
1- Corn Rows. He let a large Jamaican lady talk him into getting cornrows in his head. He stopped her when he found out they were three bucks a piece, and had to pay 10 bucks for the 3 he received. (He told her to keep the dollar.)
2-Supa-Visa (ebonic version of supervisor) CD. A guy walked up to Danny and told him he needed to hear his CD. He thrust it at him and said he needed a small donation for it. Danny told him all he had was a dollar, and they guy said OK, but he accidentally pulled out a 10, the guy snagged it quick, said thanks, and gave Danny "the worst thing anyone has called music ever." (his words)
3-Curry. I talked him into getting a chicken curry dinner (which I love), but he wasn't too fond of it, and the 10 dollars was spent on the worst food he has ever had-according to him.
4-A mesh hat that says New York on it. We were walking near Central Park and a guy starts tossing us hats. He says they are free, if we make a donation. The guy was annoyingly persistent and Danny gave him 10 bucks for the hat just to shut him up.
5-A Delivery charge. We were charged 10 dollars for a food delivery. Even though the advertisement said free delivery. New Yorkers thrive on false advertising.
So what I thought would be a short update actually turned into a little bit of longer entry. Hope you enjoy it. Here is a rundown/explanation of pictures:#1- the kids on the back deck sometime this past summer,Tierra in Sleeping Beauty Dress. #2 Eli taking a break on his Tricycle for a picture. #3 Tierra playing in the water at a barbecue. #4 Danny and me at the Dodgers game last week, #5- Danny's 10 dollar cornrows.
