Well, we went to Disneyland again. Our Season passes expire May 5th, so this will be the last trip for quite a while. We made the most of it. We went down for the week. It was perfect weather, actually a couple days were way too hot, but I hear the weather here while we were gone was aweful. Disney was not very busy, which is why we like going in April/early May. The drive was not bad at all, we made it down in just under 9 hours, and I didn't even speed very much.
One thing out of the ordinary for us this trip was that both my Mom and Dad joined us. My Dad has not been since 1993. He hates crowds and California. I think secretely he had fun, but he will probably say the only reason he went was for the grandkids. A few weeks before we left, Tierra told me we need "to find a way to get Grandpa to like Disneyland again." I included a few pictures of my parents to prove that they were there. My Mom loves Disneyland.
I don't know if he will ever admit it, but my Dad loves the Buzz Lightyear ride. He is so mad that he couldn't beat my score.
Speaking of score, one of the days we were there, I got the third highest for the day. It's because I am so good at it, but partly due to the fact that the ride stopped for a minute right by the triangle that is easy to hit (triangles are worth the most points.) The kids will just lay down anywhere to eat their ice cream, as you can see. This is half way down main street.
I think the favorite rides have changed a little since our last visit. As for me, Thunder Mountain is tops. Rebecca loves Space Mountain, Tierra loves Thunder Mountain, and Eli likes Pirates of the Carribean. None of us like the Tiki Room. Mom's fave was Pirates, and my Dad's favorite part is still the gardening of the park. Unofficialy by my declaration-his favorite ride was Buzz Astroblasters, as stated above. One of our family's favorite rides is the Haunted Mansion. I like it better at Halloween time when they do it up like the Nightmare Before Christmas movie, but still a classic ride in either set up. We were at Disneyland with friends from my work. We have been with them several times. We have fun going with people we know, so if you are going let us know! This next one is a part of Pirates Cove, formerly Tom Sawyer Island. If you turn the wheel it raises a treasure chest out of the water, if you keep turning it, a pirate skeleton comes out of the water hanging on to the treasure chest. Eli and Tierra monopolized this for quite some time.
I read somewhere that the number one complaint in 2007 was the lack of characters cruising around the park. We never felt this way, but it did seem like this past trip had characters all over. We started getting a few pictures of us and the kids with them. Here they are at Goofy's house. with Goofy.
Another picture we have is of me and Eli with Snow White. We were waiting for Rebecca and Tierra and friends to get off the Tower of Terror, and we were pretty much alone. As we were waiting, Snow White walked by and stopped and asked Eli if he was a Prince or a Pirate. He, to my surprise, said Prince. So Snow White bends down and gives him a kiss right on his forhead. I quickly said that I was a Prince also, but all I got was a smile. From then on, Eli loved Snow White and each time we saw her he had to stand in her line to see her again.
Tierra and Eli ate about 15 Churros each during our weeklong visit. They absolutely loved them. The churro is nearly as tall as Eli. They absolutely love them-did I say that already? We could hardly pass a churro stand without them yelling for one.
We did escape to the beach one of the days. The hottest day actually, so that was convienant. It is a standard to bury your kids in the sand when you hit the beach right? Well, we did whether it was or not. Eli was buried first, so by the time we were ready for the picture he had squirmed out a little. The kids love the beach as well. Tierra went down near the water all by herself, which was about 25 yards from where we were laying. I watched her the whole time. She would go right to waters edge and as the waves crashed in she would turn and run back, not wanting to get wet. The water was pretty cold, but it was a very hot day, so we all got in the ocean for a little bit.
So we had a blast. I wanted to get these pictures up for you all. I will try to do an update about everything else in a few days. enjoy.

Your love for Disneyland is inspiring me to think about getting a season pass when Mia has grown a foot or two...What cute little monkeys you guys have!
Looks like fun! Would you believe that my poor deprived kids have NEVER been? I know, we're working on that. Thanks for updating your blog, it's fun to see.
I'm glad your season passes are expiring so you will quit going for a while and rubbing it in our faces. Ha Ha! You know I'm just kidding! It looks like you had a good time - again!
