Rebecca turned 30. She got through it without incident. We went out to dinner and saw a movie- the epitome of married with kids and a babysitter at home right? She also recently took a trip to Buffalo to visit her sister and brother in law, Dave. Dave recently graduated from Dental school, and Rebecca went out to support him in that. She had a fun trip with them, she got to see Niagra Falls, she went to Canada, the United States let her back in, and most of all enjoyed hanging out with Kristin and Dave, who we rarely see since they live back east. Rebecca's mother also went, to provide the adult supervision. I meant to put a new picture of Bosco, our dog on here, but realized that I chose the wrong one initially, of the back of our house and a little of the yard. I was going to delete it, but then thought, "I am going to leave it so everyone wonders why I have a picture of our house on here." Then, if they don't read this explanation, they will wonder for a really long time. Other than taking trips across the country without me, Rebecca is doing the same old stuff we always write about: running three times a week, working the Primary, and keeping the house from imploding while I go to work and slave away for wages.
Anyway, so here is the picture of Bosco, freshly shorn. Speaking of Bosco, Animal Control recently payed Rebecca a visit (whilst I was away at work) and told her that we had a complaint on us for not feeding our dog enough. One of our nosy neighbors called it in anonymously. The officer was nice, and explained that they have to stop by, so our wonderful tax dollars are wasted on the fact that a neighbor can't come knock on our door and voice their concern to us in person, to which we would have either shot them, or took them back to show them that our dog is indeed healthy and cared for. Springer Spaniels are small, lean dogs as it is. Ours is extra hyper and gets plenty of exercise while he tries to jump out of his kennel all day. I wanted to put a sign up near the fence that Bosco's cage is nearest that said something about being concerned for Bosco, as if Bosco had written a sarcastic thank you letter, but Rebecca told me no.
Tierra is playing soccer. Actually she gets dressed up in her team outfit and goes each Saturday to try to kick the ball before the other people do. She thinks you have to take turns. I am trying to teach her aggressiveness, and that if the other person kicks it first then you just kick them in the shins. I guess age four is not as competitive as I am. She loves it though. Her team is all girls except for 1 boy, and they play teams of mostly boys. 4 year old boys are much more aggressive than the girls, so they deserve a kicked shin, but it's all for fun...they say. I am the dad on the sideline thinking the referee is sleeping when he misses the obvious offsides call. Here is a picture of Tierra and some of her teammates, they are setting up to kick the ball into play. Tierra is the one with the purple jacket in almost the middle of the picture. I think it is the only picture where she hasn't struck a pose. She is so camera happy and feels inclined to do something special anytime the camera points her way. An example of this truth is evidenced in the next picture. I swear she can't just sit still and let me take a picture of her.
So when Rebecca was off gallivanting in the East, I had to play Mr. Mom. Let me just say I could not be a stay at home Dad where the Mom goes out to work. I am not made that way. My circuits are all backwards. Getting kids dressed each day, doing girls hair, dealing with their idiosyncrasies! Wow. Rebecca was gone for like 160 days, from Thursday to Sunday.
My brother Spencer got married a few months ago, and over the last weekend they had a ring ceremony. I got to be the MC. I mention this only because it was the weirdest feeling ever. For a ring ceremony, no official status is required of the MC, but it sure was a different view of a wedding-like ceremony. Sitting in front of all the guests and in front of my bro and his wife. Weird. It was too pastoral. I felt very out of place. So in addition to all this, life continues on. Still working the office job for the fire department, still Scoutmaster and gearing up for the summer activities that both responsibilities bring. Summer speeds by so fast, but as promised in a previous entry, we have some vacations planned, so we will keep you up on those as they occur.
I didn't forget Eli, just saved him for last. He's growing up fast. I don't have a new picture of him. He has so many funny little things he does, it's hard to remember which ones to write about. Each time it his turn to pray, he prays all on his own to be able to go to his friend Noah's house, and to go to Disneyland again. So for those Disneyland critics, next time we go it will be solely to answer a young boys prayer...okay? Since I mentioned Disneyland, maybe I can get away with ending with a Disney picture from our last trip?! Here is one of the kids making funny faces on Pirates Cove Island.

OKAY...it was me that said you don't feed your dog enough!! How rude of you guys!!! That is funny!! Don't you love the people that always are watching cause they have nothing better to do!! How funny!! Talk to you guys soon!
I would have let you put the sign up but I get really mad when people dont mind their own business. Why couldnt they just throw your dogs some scraps if they were worried.
Ella plays soccer too but mostly goes for the halftime treat. Logan could care less about the treat as long as his time wins with him scoring plenty of goals. Boys and girls are very different. Sam already wants to play and hes 2.
BTW I think twenty trips to disneyland a year is just fine.....
Hey Chad! It's Aimee. Thanks for your comment a couple o' weeks back. Haven't had a chance to browse yours 'cause we were in Disneyland for a great big long vacation. Oh wait! You were too! I think it's fantanstic that there are families out there that love Disneyland like we do! We are kind of freaky about it, too. I love your blog! It's so entertaining to read. Especially when I have to read two paragraphs worth before I find out why there is a picture of the back of your house. Your writing reminds me of when you used to write in your journal everyday about what you ate. I think most days it was all about mashed potatoes, but it was always entertaining anyway.
I wanted to see a picture of the hair do you did on Tierra while Rebecca was gone. Good for her for taking a little trip. That gives me a great idea.
Hi fellow blogger!
Turning 30 was the pits for me too!
She is still a few days "older" than me though! lol LuV You Rebecca!
I have to agree with hendricks about your neighbors just throwing scraps over the fence. What a bunch of whoosus, having to call the cops... hey, isn't your next door neighbor a cop? hmmmm.
We'll come visit soon! - Promise!

Sheesh you guys. Can't you even share a little bit of your Birthday cake with your poor starving dog? I would have reported you too. JK! No really, I would have let you put the letter on the fence Chad. Ha Ha! Congrats on the big 3-0 Rebecca!
