Last week, for the first time ever, we decided to go with some friends from the neighborhood to cut down our own Christmas tree. The Erickson's do it every year, so we decided it may be fun to try. We didn't know the roads were going to be the worst roads ever, and we didn't know that the other car in our caravan would spin a 360 each direction and spin off the road, barely avoiding a roll over. We didn't know that even in four wheel drive we would slip all over the road on the way up to get the tree. We did know that the KFC lunch would taste good, and despite all this, we had a fun time. Here are a few pictures of the process. From Forest to living room.
So we got the tree home, decorated it, and there weren't even any stow away squirrels. (I love that movie!) And of course the kids have to have a funny pose! But I am throwing a cute one in too. No I did not just use the word cute.
And I like the picture of Eli trying to climb up the snowy hillside.
So enjoy. Not many words, just pictures. We will be posting a Christmas Update soon, a year in review if you will, and I am even going to try my best to get Rebecca to write it!

Sorry, the layout of this post is not cooperating with me. It bugs me, but won't fix! Hope you can tolerate.
Love the tree.. We picked ours out too and I think we did a pretty good job. We had no idea what we were doing, but it is now blue, white, and silver.. Which means "GO COWBOYS"!!!! Gotta love it
We chopped down ours every year since we got married, but this year we went artificial all the way. We were tired of the long, slippery drive to the mountains. I'm a baby and don't like trudging around in the cold snow.
That looked like it was a lot of fun. I'm sorry me and Jeff missed it. But I'm not sorry I stayed warm while I got my tree out of the garage. I can't believe there was that much snow up there I'm glad you all stayed safe.
Dear Chad,
Another reason you should move out here. It's easier to steal trees.
Make sure you don't have any wild cats picking around at your tree.
I like your tree. I've always wanted to go and cut down our own tree, but now we have a fake one. Yours looks great!
Ya, so the Amber on my list is Amber Combs, hers is private, so I'd have to give her your email address so she can add you.
I would be happy to call myself a Griswold. I want to be Aunt Edna or Snots. Seriously the whole cuting down the tree thing must be done once, but just once. Too bad station wagons aren't popular anymore or the scene would be complete!
Did the Fisher Price fire truck ornament I gave you make it on the tree?
Chris makes us watch "Christmas Vacation" every Christmas eve. We are watching it right now in fact. Merry Christmas, Love The Stantons
I think that is so cool that you took Tierra skiing. I have only been once. I might have enjoyed it if I had gone when I was little.
