Well, summer came and went very fast for us. It always does. Seems summer is so stinking busy that you just don't have time to do everything you plan for yourself during the winter. I am looking forward to winter though, to ski. Our family sneaked a few vacations in, nothing major, just some small camping trips.
Our basement flooded during a massive rainstorm while we were gone camping. A neighbor checked our house and actually saved a lot of work by pulling our carpet up for us. We had to replace our pad in one of the basement rooms. While the carpet was propped up drying, it rained hard again and again flooded our basement...but since our carpet was already up, no additional damage was incurred.
Eli turned 2 in July. He's a solid mass of a boy/ He's also the sensitive one. Just a little voice raising can bring him to tears. He cries to "mommy" and "daddy" when Tierra is mean to him. I tell him all the time to just hit her back because he's bigger than her, but he hasn't yet. His speaking is improving, but there are several consonants he can not pronounce.
Tierra turns 4 next week on the 15th. We have a little suprise in store for her that we will talk all about next post. She recently started Preschool. She goes three times a week for a couple of hours and loves it. This is where I start to feel old. Rebecca too. Tierra is growing up so fast. I know all you parents out there are just smiling to yourselves and thinking, "told ya so!"
Rebecca has been running consistently and is starting to enjoy herself. There is a group of 4 or 5 women from the ward that run 3 times a week. She has also been very busy reading the entire Harry Potter series over again. She read all six books right before book 7 came out, and then read book 7 twice in a row. She is the host of a monthly book club for the Relief Society. Her official calling is still 1st councelor in the primary.
I kept busy with Summer camps and work. We had our weeklong camp in July, a backpacking trip to the high Uintahs in August, and other overnighters throughout the summer. Scouts takes a lot of my time. So does work. Most of the summer doing PIO duties had me getting called out right in the middle of Sacrament Meeting. My office just moved away from headquarters to one of the fire stations. I still have the same office job, just a new office location. It is better that I am at a station because it is in the battalion that I am responsible for, so it allows me better interaction with the Captains and Battalion Chiefs that I coordinate everything with. Plus, if the crew gets a fun call, I can hop in and go once in a while.
We took a trip a few weeks ago to Boise. We visited some friends up there. It was pretty fun. Nothing special, just a weekend away. We hope all are well. Please email us and update us with your lives. I would have included pictures, but Rebecca is hogging them all on her computer. So email her and tell her to give me the pictures already so I can share them with you. I promise in 2 weeks to add just a page of pictures, okay?
