First... OPENING DAY! Yes. Baseball season is back on and my quest to get a few more stadium visits is on as well. I started off with the Colorado Rockies home opener. I drove to Colorado with Brent Locke and Jason Robinson, some fellow baseball fanatics. We stayed at Brent's sister's house...(those of you from Cyprus will remember DeAynne Locke Baker.)
Our hosts were so awesome. We shot trap in their backyard before leaving. How cool would that be to be able to shoot guns in your backyard whenever you wanted? (Which reminds me of Eli, who says all the time now: "How cool is that?) So then it was on to Denver for the game.
In the other trips I have taken, I have noticed that after watching a team on their home field, it is hard to not like them somewhat. It was true at Yankee Stadium. I have always hated the Yankees, but now I can't say "hate" anymore. I had way too much fun at their "home." Even the Washington (DC) Nationals. Not a good team by any one's standards, but I have a hard time not liking them a little. This trend was broken at the Rockies.
I had a blast, don't get me wrong, but I still don't think I could enjoy them as a team. After all, they traded Matt Holliday, one of the best outfielders in the game. The stadium was nice and like I said we had a blast, but they are still just the Rockies to me.
So more about opening day. It was a huge celebration. They got the season started off with a bang. It was intense. They unravelled a huge flag that took up the entire outfield.
Military jets flew over, and seemingly millions of balloons were released. We got to watch the Rockies shred the MVP pitcher (Hamels) from last years World Champion Phillies. It was a great offensive game with many hits, a couple guys went yard, and some great plays. We drove all the way back to Utah after the game and got home about 2 am. We stopped in Rollins Wyoming for dinner. Ask the three of us about the Chinese restaurant we ate at, specifically the waiter. We laughed about him the rest of the drive home.
For Easter we got together with my Mom's side of the family and had dinner at her house.
Hung out with all my brothers and their families, my cousins and their families, and Parents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles. There are so many of us now.
The kids were excited to get a visit from the Easter Bunny.
Tierra is still perplexed that the Easter Bunny knew we had a new baby and brought a basket and stuffed animal for her as well. I was perplexed that the Easter Bunny even came around at all since I remember when I was 10 years old and my dad came home from work the day before Easter and had a dead Jack Rabbit in his truck and said, "Sorry Kids, I hit the Easter Bunny with my truck coming home from work."
So that's our update.
Haylee is doing just fine. Eating tons and gaining weight. She is still smaller than most babies are at birth, but she is getting bigger. Oh yea, the picture of the three babies are Haylee and her recent cousins.
Jayden is 7 months, Sunne is 4 months, and Haylee is 5 weeks. (Haylee is the middle one) Yep, she is part midget. This blog use to allow you to enlarge pictures. Sorry that it no longer does, I am not sure why. If you figure it out let me know.

The kids are very cute and the little one is very tiny or as you said, somewhat of a midget, but a really cute one. I have been reading "Casey at the Bat" to Taylor the past few nights for his bedtime story, and I couldn't help but think of you and your baseball fanaticism. Wow-that's a cool word-fananticism?
Midget is not politically correct. Mine are little people too.
Lynsee had a babe on March 8th and she isn't up to what my kids weighed at birth, either. She has a short mama tho.
I have never been politically correct.
How fun is the baseball plan??? I will have to tell Dustan...that is really cool!! Also, your kids are so cute!!
Go Yankees!
I just saw Petco stadium!
I am still Sunne's favorite!
The kids look so cute in thier little church clothes. What a nice Easter Bunny. If your Dad hit him with a truck does that mean the Easter Bunny has nine lives too? Just wondering. The trip sounds like it was a success. I noticed you didnt mention anything about driving thru Price in your blog, how could you forget to share THAT????
And I noticed that you failed to mention the "short sheeted beds" sorry to bring that up again, but I couldn't resist. I am glad that you had a good time and that you come back soon. Bring the family. Just an FYI, we rode the 4-wheeler and sled today in our 30" of snow. 70 degrees starting tomorrow. So fun. Keep track of my brother and we'll chat soon.
Yeah, we are in Knoxville.. I can't wait to get my lil shirt for the team. Everywhere we go I get a shirt that has the Major Team on it. Wish we were going to Disneyland with you guys. I'm so jealous. Take lots of pics for me
I love what your dad said about the easter bunny! Creative way to end the madness. I have a 7-yr old and I'm always waiting for her to ask those dreaded questions about the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and the tooth fairy, too, for that matter. :)
