Now that summer is winding down and almost over, one of the many projects on my list has been accomplished. We went to RC Willey, just to "look" at the labor day sale stuff, and came back with an entire new living room. Enjoy the before
and after
shots. Rebecca worked her butt off to get the taping done, broke the tile out of the old fire place, moved book shelves, sanded and cleaned the old walls, and helped paint. Tons of work was done while I was at work. She even effectively removed any trace of any book I owned from the two bookshelves we moved to the upstairs living room. So the only thing missing is the 96" flat screen TV I really really wanted. Next time I guess. No TV, but we did get:
New Couch.
New Carpet.
New Paint.

Beautiful! Looks like an HGTV makeover. Well done!
Looks GREAT!! Job well done :) I love new carpet and paint. Doesn't it just smell so nice???
I love the paint color Rebecca. I am burned out and need some inspiration on the paint, I should have you come over and help!!! Eli and Jack could play and swap underwear!
Forget the Jones' - I can't keep up with Rebecca. Fantasy Football and now this. I can do a lot around the house, but a whole makeover? Wow.
Hold on people, Rebecca did not do this by herself, she was just a big help! Geez! What kind of husband do you think I am?
Chad's right. It was a ton of work and even the kids helped by carrying books and dusting and such. We've never really done a whole room makeover before and it was fun, but boy was I exhausted when it was done!
Aimee, I've never met you before, but thank you for all your nice comments. I'll bet Chad thinks it's feeding my ego too much, but it sure makes me feel cool :). I better confess, just for the record, I usually can't (and don't) do much around the house. But it was worth it this time for a comfy, new couch and a carpeted floor.
(P.S. You'd probably love fantasy football. You should try it!)
LOVE IT!!!! Now does the New couch turn into a bed?! :o)(in case we visit ya)
I wish I was there to help... I Love painting & redecorating! -- Call me when you want to do the upstairs!!! Miss you guys.
Wow! I am impressed. First you did kindergarten with no drama, and now a family room remodel. Next thing you know you are going to be blogging about how you did it all without any arguements too! It's a little like the Wonder Pets, "What's gonna work? Team Work!"
WOW! That looks really good. I'll never forget when you guys invited us over to eat, and the chair that Mike sat on broke ha ha good times. YA you are still in the family. I thought you guys were going to be at Jaydens party.. HA HA we will see you sooner than later.. Disneyland I'm sure we'll run into ya..
Natalie, the kids STILL talk about Mike breaking the chair. Ha ha! Yeah, that was funny stuff. Sorry we missed you guys at the party. Haylee and I were sick. We'll see ya at Disneyland though. I'm sooooooooo excited! Four more days til we leave!
It looks great! You guys are pros!
I guess it looks alright...It would look much better with the 52" TV that Chad wanted to get! Just kidding...it looks great. When are you coming over to paint my family room?
Jason
52"? Can you imagine? I was looking 96" Organic LCD's. As soon as they come down in price.... yeah!
Love the makeover.. and personally have seen it in person the pictures don't do it justice. It turned out gorgeous. I'm particularly fond of the fireplace no idea why? haha You did do a god job Rebecca. oh and ooops Chad..
WOW!! That looks so nice you guys, way to go. Eat that Jones'
I would be offended by everyone on here if my last name was Jones. The room looks awesome. If Dave were a blog reading type he would be making fun of the fact that you own VHS tapes. Those are VHS right....its so hard to tell since i cant enlarge the pictures and all.....(; I have no idea how I do what I do Chad, its just dumb luck
I just saw this post. Guess I missed the last email when it was posted. FANTASTIC WORK ON THE LIVING ROOM, YOU TWO!! :D Looks really good! - Allison
